Can I keep my phone number if I switch providers?
Switching and keeping your number
Keeping your number when switching provider is called ‘porting’ your number.
You’ll need to contact your current provider and request a Porting Authorisation Code (PAC).
This is a numerical code that you must then give to your new provider.
You can call them to get your PAC.

How long will it take to port my number to a new carrier? Transferring or porting your number can take anywhere from 10 minutes to 24 hours. Porting multiple lines and porting landlines can take up to 10 days. It all depends on which carrier you are switching from and to.
Does porting your number cancel service?
